The FNX series is equipped with a hybrid drive source for the molding machine – the servo motor and the hydraulic system – which can drive the motor only when needed, thus reducing energy consumption. For example, a model with a clamping force of 3540 kN reduces the power consumption by about 55% compared to the original hydraulic press. In addition, since the temperature of the lubricating oil is hard to rise, the amount of cooling water used can also be reduced.
The clamping structure is the same as the hydraulic “FN†series, which also uses direct compression clamping. The low clamping force can be easily set so there is no need to worry about excessive clamping force being applied. This will increase the life of the molding machine and mold, as well as prevent gas leaks and short shots.
