Packaging machinery looks good in Russia

Russia’s economic heavy industry and light industry were too light during the former Soviet era. Since 1998, the Russian economy has seen a recovery. The market for plastics processing machinery, printing machinery, food processing machinery, packaging machinery and other light industrial machinery and equipment is increasingly heating up. The Russian production and supply capacity of these equipments is very weak. Therefore, they mainly rely on imports and have a vast market.

In recent years, the Russian packaging machinery industry has developed rapidly. By the end of 2001, Russia's packaging machine manufacturers had increased to more than 250, including 70 in Moscow, 30 in the suburbs of Moscow, 35 in Peterburg, and 120 in other cities. The output and output value of Russia's packaging machinery are currently not yet available. According to the statistics of 35 Russian packaging machinery companies, from 1995 to 2000, these enterprises produced a total of more than 15,000 charter flights of various types, totalling 15,377. In 2000, the import amount of Russian packaging machinery was 38.226 million U.S. dollars and the export amount was 30.5 million U.S. dollars. It can be seen that Russian packaging machinery still imports more than exports.
