Stall test Stall test is used to check the clutch and brake of automatic transmissions

Stall Test Stall test is used to check the clutch and brake of the automatic transmission and the torque converter's locking ability. Stall test steps a. Make the automatic transmission oil reach normal operating temperature and connect the tachometer to the engine. b. Tighten the parking brake and hold the brake pedal. Hang the splitter on the top of the two-wheel drive and start the engine. Note: No one is allowed to stand at the front or rear of the vehicle during the test. c. Put the selector handle to the D position, depress the accelerator pedal, make the throttle fully open, and observe the engine speed (stall speed).

If the stall speed is higher than the specified value, check whether the main oil pressure and the oil level are too low; if the forward clutch CZ slips; whether the 1st reverse brake B3 slips; or if the overdrive one-way clutch FO cannot be locked. In R position, when the stall speed is higher than the specified value, check whether the oil level is too low; whether the main oil pressure is too low; or whether the overspeed one-way clutch FO can not be locked.

Time Lag Test This test determines the main oil pressure and gear shift actuator by testing the gear shift lag time of the automatic transmission (the time required from the start of shifting the selector handle until the vehicle vibrates.) working condition. Time Lag Test Step a. Make the automatic transmission oil reach normal operating temperature. b. Tighten the parking brake and turn off the air conditioner to place the transfer case on top of the two-wheel drive. c. Start the engine and check its limit idle speed.
