Which performance is most important

About the bucket and boom

Excavators are not always used as excavation machines, and builders sometimes use them to piling or use them to lay pipes. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the situation of the bucket to ensure that there are no problems in piling, crushing and walking.

Another important part is the bucket cylinder connecting pin and bushing. It is important to check the tightness of these places. Many problems arise from the lack of maintenance and inspection.

When you start the machine to move the bucket, stick and rear arm, you may see the pin or cylinder move, but the stick and bucket do not move. This is caused by the looseness of the pin and bushing parts.

Another key point is to look closely at the part of the rear arm that is connected to the excavator. If the connection under your rear arm is excessively worn, it may result in the loss of the value of the entire equipment.

Oil leakage means that the entire oil pipeline may be contaminated

It is important to check the hydraulic cylinders and tubing. The best case is that the chrome-plated surface of the hydraulic cylinder has no scratches, dents or oil leaks. If hydraulic oil leaks out, it is possible that the dust has contaminated the hydraulic system.

Also make sure that the cylinder wall is not damaged or has dents. The gap between the cylinder and the cylinder wall is small. As long as there is a debris in the pipeline, the cylinder will generate a large amount of metal chips due to wear during operation and remain in the hydraulic system.

Be wary of welding on the body

Look carefully at the cracks on the excavator and the weld marks left by the original manufacturing. These things indicate that the machine has been overused.

Another good way to do this is to use a straight plate on the rear arm and stick to see if there is any misalignment or distortion.

Pay special attention to the extra steel plate repair. There may be some scratches and dents on the phone, but if there are too many patches on the machine, it may mean that the device has been used for a long time.

Rubber track and chassis

The rubber track on the mini excavator is different from the steel track on the large machine, which is suitable for use on grass and driveways. Many times you don't check the wear of the rubber track at close range, like checking a steel track.

As a result, you only see the wear of the rubber track without seeing a lot of wear on the sprocket and the roller. You can estimate the use of cracks and edges on the rubber track to assess its use, while paying attention to the height of the ribs, just like watching tires when wearing tires.

Due to the different ways of use and soil conditions, the working life of rubber tracks is also very different. In general, its average life expectancy is about 2,000 hours. However, if you work in a rocky or wear-prone environment, the service life will be halved. Conversely, the working life will be doubled in a better environment.

When you check the track and the chassis, don't forget to drive again to check the oil level and cleanliness. This part is easily overlooked and usually leaves very little oil. If the amount of oil is already low and there is water or something else, it will cause more trouble.

Driving operation check

After the engine warm-up is started, the machine is tilted so that it stands on only one side of the track, and the tracks on both sides are sequentially rotated to stand. Note how many such actions can be completed in 30 or 60 seconds and then compare to other tracks.

The crawler's crawler is a built-in flow meter. If the two don't give you the same flow, then there may be a problem. Another way to detect it is to drive the excavator for 10 meters on a flat surface. If you are running a straight line, you can know that the two sides of the walking device are running as well.

Also check the swivel ring gear and the slewing bearing. Under normal circumstances, the upper part can smoothly start the rotation and can stop accurately, with little or no deviation. For small excavators, the swivel ring gear and the slewing bearing should have the same long life as the machine, so any questions about this part should be noted.

Engine cover

Open the hood and check the exhaust line for signs of smoking. You can pull out the dipstick and check for smoke. Too much smoke usually means that the piston ring needs to be replaced, and it may take a long time for the engine to overhaul.

Check the air filter and all the tubes and clamps. Just a little bit of dust is enough to destroy the entire engine. Pay attention to the dust or dirt accumulated in the terminal. Also check the fan to make sure the belt is tight. Check the heat sink to make sure it is clean. Ignoring the cooling system and the intake system is likely to cause the engine to overheat and shorten the life of the machine.

Basic checks also include checking the radiator fluid and engine oil, checking the battery for corrosion, and seeing for obvious leaks around the engine.
