Delphi Motors recently stated that it is developing wireless charging technology for in-vehicle electronic devices.
Delphi stated that the principle of this technology is the same as that of the electric vehicle's wireless charging technology. Both are charged by magnetic resonance without using any charging cable. The difference is that Delphi has built power resonators in the interior of the car, charging electronic devices inside the vehicle (including navigation systems and mobile phones).
The wireless charging technology for electronic devices in cars not only does not require the use of a large number of complicated charging lines, but also can charge multiple electronic devices at the same time. In addition, the system technology can make the driver not need to distract attention to find the charging interface during driving of the vehicle, so as to improve the safety of driving.
Delphi said that the system technology is currently being tested and it is expected to start mass production in 2014.
