October sales: Chery and Great Wall grow fast, Dongfeng sales decline

The sales pattern of self-owned brand cars in October is similar to that of the one-month period, but there are also major differences:

1. Chery sold more cars than BYD in October, ranking first in sales of autonomous cars

In October last year, Chery’s car sales were 125,000 lower than BYD. In October of this year, Chery’s sales increased by 44.1% to 49,000 units, while BYD’s sales fell by 13.9% to 40,000 units. However, from January to October, Chery’s car sales were still lower than BYD.

2. Great Wall exceeds Brilliance and SAIC, 3/4 sales from Tengyi C30

From January to October, the Great Wall, the ninth-largest sedan sales volume, surpassed Brilliance and Shanghai Automotive in October, ranking sixth. In October last year, the Great Wall sold only 6,137 sedan cars, an increase of 156.2% to 15.7 million vehicles this year, which ranks first among auto makers in October.

The main reason for the growth of car sales in the growth-promoting city in October was that the Tengyi C30, which had just been listed in May this year, had sales of 11,800 units in October. The car contributed three-fourths of the sales of the Great Wall in October.

3. Dongfeng's October Sales Declined 4.6%

From January to October, the sales volume of sedan increased by 150.6%. In October, the sales volume decreased by 4.6% year-on-year to 2,886 units. This is mainly due to the sales of Dongfeng's own sedan, Fengshen S30, which fell 21.3% year-on-year to 2,382 units. The Fengshen H30, which was launched in January of this year, sold only 504 vehicles in October.
