Shanghai Jiaotong University built a world-class ocean deep water test pool

The Shanghai Deepwater Testing Pool, designed by the China Shipbuilding Ninth Design and Research Institute, has been built from the beginning of September to the end of November. Some buildings have been close to the ground and ground construction began. It is planned to be completed next year.

The pool is included in the national high-tech industrial development project plan. Upon completion, it will become a world-class ship and ocean engineering experimental research base, ranking first in Asia and second in the world in simulating deepwater and various complex marine environmental capabilities. The test pool is located at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University and consists of a main body of the pool and a deep well. The effective working scale of the main body of the pool is 40 meters × 50 meters, the maximum working water depth is 10 meters; the inner diameter of the deep well is 5 meters, and the maximum working water depth is 40 meters.
