Sales figures In December 2011, Nissan Motor's global sales volume was 435,578 units, an increase of 19.4% over the same period of last year. In 2011, the total sales volume was 4,669,981 units, compared to 4,080,609 units in 2010. The year-on-year increase was 14.4%.
On November 2, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it has increased its global sales forecast for the fiscal year 2011-2012 (as of the end of March 2012), which has increased from the previous 4.6 million units to 4.75 million units. The main growth is from North America and China. Sales in North America are expected to increase from the previous 1.33 million to 1.35 million, while sales in China are expected to increase from 1.15 million to 1.25 million.
According to the data released by Nissan, the total global sales volume has not reached the figure after the increase, while the sales volume in China is exactly the target.
If it covers mini vehicles with a displacement of 660 cc or less, sales in the domestic market will be 45,160 units, an increase of 31.6% year-on-year. The number of new cars registered was 34,126, a year-on-year increase of 37.2%, which was mainly driven by the sales of Serena, LEAF pure electric vehicles and newly-launched Lafesta Highway Star. The total registered volume for the year was 445,880 vehicles, down 10.7% year-on-year. For the full year of 2011, Nissan’s cumulative sales volume in the Chinese market was 1,247,738 units, which represented a year-on-year increase of 21.9% from 1,023,638 units in 2010.
In December, the US market's growth rate dropped to 7.7% year-on-year, with sales of 100,927 vehicles. The best-selling models are Altima and Rogue. The total sales volume for the year was 1,042,534 units, a year-on-year increase of 14.7% from 908,570 units in 2010.
In December 2011, the European market sold 57,493 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%, due to the strong demand for Juke models in Russia and other countries. The total sales volume for the year was 695,703 vehicles, which was 25.4% higher than the 554,925 vehicles in 2010.
In other regional markets, 76,940 units were sold in December, an increase of 18.3% year-on-year, and annual sales volume was 782,138 units, an increase of 16.0% year-on-year, mainly in markets such as India, Brazil and Indonesia.
