Recently, Bridgestone announced that from January 1, 2016, Bridgestone's retail business will designate Shell Lubricants as lubricants for its US automotive suppliers. Bridgestone did not disclose further detailed terms of cooperation.
As part of the agreement, Shell will supply products to Bridgestone retail stores such as Quaker State, Pennzoil Platinum and Rotella branded engine oils.
According to Bridgestone Retail Stores, the car service center that currently operates Bridgestone tires uses ConocoPhillips Kendall brand car oil.
Bridgestone claims to be the world's largest operator of car maintenance and tire shop, with four industrial chains, a total of 2,200 stores.
Shell Lubricants will recycle the customer's automotive waste oil free of charge at Bridgestone's retail operations. In 2014, the stores recovered more than 10.6 million gallons of waste oil.
“The extension of this agreement is that when all Bridgestone Retail Business LLC (BSRO) stores use steel and lead to balance the tires, they will also use waste engine oil and recycle old car batteries from customers. There is no charge.†Rosalie Morton, Bridgestone's representative, told the Lube Report.
