Over the past three years, Lavrita Engenharia has delivered 70 new AP2 fire engines to the Brazilian fire brigade stationed at fixed-airline take-off and landing airports. These new fire engines equipped with Allison transmissions are part of the Minister of Civil Aviation (SAC) logistics investment plan to improve the safety of civil aviation in Brazil.
Lavrita's CCI-AP2-Fênix fire engine uses the Scania P 440 chassis and is currently the only Brazilian-made 4×4 fire engine that complies with international standards. It can be used at all airports in South America and North America. With the Allison 4000 Series fully automatic gearbox, the fire engine can perform fire fighting and suppression during the process, which improves the safety, speed and efficiency of the vehicle for firefighters.
Allison Transmission
“Assembly of Allison transmissions is critical for the safe operation of the airport and for the rescue of aircraft and the area around the airport,†said Wilson Molina Ribas, technical director of Lavrita Engenharia. The above plan began in 2009 and is the result of close cooperation with Allison over the years.
Ribas said: "According to regulations, these vehicles must be able to provide mobility and power at the same time; they can pump water under flexible conditions." He added: "A vehicle equipped with a manual or AMT gearbox cannot meet this requirement. The Allison automatic gearbox can power the vehicle while powering the vehicle with the engine power to activate the water pump. â€
In an emergency, time is better than everything. Thanks to Allison's advanced technology, these vehicles can accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h (50 mph) in 35 seconds, reach international standards, and have a top speed of 113 km/h (70 mph). Time). Compared to manual and AMT gearboxes, Allison transmissions accelerate up to 35%.
Leandro Marques, Account Manager of Allison Transmission, said that the benefits of Allison automatic transmissions to customers are much more than faster accelerations and smooth shifts. "Providing an uninterrupted flow of water for efficient disaster relief is another major advantage in deploying Allison transmissions."
The CCI-AP2-Fênix model is a Class 2 fire truck with a water capacity of 6000 liters (nearly 1600 gallons). Based on the P 440 4x4 cabin and chassis, Lavrita develops, manufactures and assembles all equipment, and carries Allison 4500 transmissions and Rosenbauer equipment such as pumps, monitoring cannons and other equipment required by the International Airport Fire Control Standards. Despite similar projects in Austria, Fênix in Brazil achieved a localization rate of 80%.
CCI-AP2-Fênix has 440cv power and is suitable for 4x4 traction on any ground, electronically controlled management system, ABS/EBS braking system, 700 litre storage tank for liquid foam machine and 200 kg dry powder Storage tanks. The distance above the gun water, dry powder or foam reached 75 meters, while the range of guns below it reached 46 meters.
