Should not be afraid of SA8000 - not afraid, is the first step to "going out"

I heard that many chemical companies that “go out” have had two different views on SA8000. The implementation of the SA8000 is a ticket for Chinese companies to successfully access the international market; at the same time, the SA8000 is a tool for trade protection in other countries and a barrier for Chinese companies to go abroad. Tickets VS threshold, how can there be such a big ambiguity in the same thing?
SA8000, also known as social responsibility standards, was established in August 1997 by the American Economic Priorities Accreditation Committee (SAI). This standard system, like the ISO 9000 quality management system and the ISO 14000 environmental management system, is subject to review by third-party certification bodies. International standards. The content includes 9 items such as child labor, forced labor, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary measures, working hours, salary and compensation, health and safety, and management system. Its core content is to concretize and standardize people, understand people, respect people, and protect people, so that people-oriented management and humanistic care can be manipulated and quantified. It requires companies to implement adequate protection and care for workers during the development process, and must not obtain economic benefits at the expense of their physical and mental health. As the world's first international standard of ethics, it reflects the new trend of corporate management today.
From this point of view, the SA8000 is definitely a good thing, and Chinese companies have no reason to fear it.
But why do many Chinese companies fear it and regard it as a threshold?
Quite simply, for most Chinese companies, SA8000 is almost impossible to achieve. Because of this, it has become a weapon that many developed countries have to deal with when dealing with developing countries, becoming one of the additional requirements of developed countries when importing products.
However, if a company is afraid of it and therefore does not deal with foreign countries, it is tantamount to giving up its chance of “going out”.
In fact, Chinese companies should not be afraid of the SA8000. The Chinese government’s understanding of corporate social responsibility is basically the same as the international concept of the corporate social responsibility movement. The Chinese government also attaches great importance to corporate social responsibility issues. After long-term efforts, China has established a series of legal systems, such as labor law, safety production law, cleaner production law, etc., and it has comprehensive and complete provisions on corporate social responsibility. Of course, we acknowledge that the recognition of corporate social responsibility is still not quite in place. This is related to the entire legal environment. The urgent economic development requirements have caused many Chinese companies to focus on economic benefits for a considerable period of time. However, as China's economy continues to develop, the human quality of Chinese companies will continue to increase.
Not afraid is the first step in "going out".
