Recently, Koggsberg Maritime received a contract from the FSG shipyard of the German Siem Group to provide engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services for a new LNG powered passenger ship. The above engineering and product production phases are expected to take two years.
This is Kongsberg's second passenger roll contract with the FSG shipyard and the third “panoramic†contract from the German shipyard. The “panoramic†contract, valued at approximately 20 million euros, provides engineering, procurement and project management services for a new LNG powered passenger ship in Brittany Ferry Ltd., France, and is responsible for the delivery and installation of ship technology. The maritime programme department is responsible for implementation.
It is reported that the new ship will be named "Honfleur", with a total tonnage of 42,400 tons, a total length of 187.4 meters, a width of 31 meters, a cargo capacity of 2,200 parking spaces, and a dedicated car deck for storing 300 cars. The two-story passenger deck on board has 255 passenger cabins with multiple restaurants, bars and lounge areas for a total capacity of 1,800 passengers and crew.
Kongsberg's automation and control technology will support the ship's design, optimize fuel consumption, and meet current and future environmental regulations. In addition to the above project management, interface management and engineering services, KONGSBERG supplies include LNG fuel gas supply systems, power, telecommunications and integrated control systems, and cables. The main technologies include shaft generator sets, switchboards, automation systems, emergency cut-off systems, rudder control, navigation systems, radio/satellite internal and external communication systems, entertainment and information systems.
