After a night of operation, on the morning of June 27, the first domestic 250,000-ton/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) mixing extrusion granulation unit developed and manufactured by Dalian Rubber Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd. successfully completed its last empty load. The test run began to dismantle and leave the factory. Following the localization of large-scale polypropylene compounding and extrusion granulation units, a major breakthrough has also been made in the localization of large-scale polyethylene mixers.
The unit was developed and manufactured by Sinopec Qilu Branch of Sinopec, which had passed the acceptance inspection of the China National Petroleum Corporation's major equipment localization office. The company has independently developed large-scale extrusion granulation units with independent intellectual property rights and international standards. It not only fills the gaps in the field of large-scale pelletizers in China, but also gradually realizes the full-scale localization of large-scale mixers. The research and development test platform for large-scale extrusion granulation units has been established. It has a complete set of technologies for the extrusion granulation unit from design, testing, manufacture to installation, commissioning and operation.
It is reported that the localization of this unit is based on the structural adjustment project of synthetic resin products of Qilu Branch of Sinopec. The HDPE project uses the patented technology of UCC's low-pressure gas-phase polymerization process. The acceptance expert group believes that the overall layout of the unit is reasonable, appearance quality and trial operation are in good condition, and it has a relatively complete automatic control system. The main technical indicators met the design requirements and the overall level achieved the goal of domestic research.
The large-size extrusion granulation unit is a polypropylene or polyethylene resin that is uniformly mixed with other auxiliary materials according to the user's requirements in a strict ratio. The unit is mixed, plasticized, extruded, underwater pelletized, separated and dried, and The final processing into regular granular products. The large-scale mixed extrusion granulation unit includes a full set of high-tech process equipment such as metering, mixing, extrusion granulation of resin and auxiliary materials, separation of process water and polymer particles, dry storage of pellets, and process water circulation. Due to its high overall technical level and reliability requirements for plant operation, large-scale mixing and granulation units of existing ethylene plants in China rely on imported equipment for a long time.
In 2010, the first domestically produced 200,000-ton-per-year polypropylene compounding and granulation unit made by the company was put into operation. After that, the 100,000-ton/year polypropylene granulation unit was also put into operation by Zhongyuan Petrochemical. However, in China, there is a blank in the R&D and manufacture of polyethylene compounding and granulating units. The polyethylene large-scale mixing and granulating units are totally dependent on imports. Their markets have been controlled by foreign companies, and China's petrochemical industry has paid a huge price.
